Are you worried about losing Winter Fuel Allowance?
This year the Winter Fuel Payment is going to be means tested. If you are over state retirement age and want to check if you are eligible for Pension Credit and check what other support you may be entitled to, please join us at our Pension Credit Clinic on Friday 27th September.
We are hosting a Pension Credit Clinic to help individuals understand their entitlements and make the most of this important benefit. Our event is designed for anyone who has questions about Pension Credit; whether you’re unsure about your eligibility or need help navigating the application process, we’re here to support you!
The Pension Credit Gap
Unfortunately, many people miss out on claiming Pension Credit because they mistakenly believe they don’t qualify. The reality is that 850,000 pensioner households who were eligible for Pension Credit didn’t claim it during the 2020/21 financial year**. Even more concerning, 40% of those entitled to Pension Credit were unaware they could claim it***.
One of the most common misconceptions is that people think their income or savings are too high to qualify. In reality, a majority of pensioners who could claim don’t because of this very assumption+. Many eligible pensioners are missing out on £2,000 per year on average****. That’s money that could significantly improve their quality of life.
More Than Just Financial Support
Pension Credit isn’t just a financial boost—it can unlock a range of other benefits that many pensioners are unaware of. These include:
– Help with council tax
– Free TV licences for over-75s
– Help with NHS costs, including free dental care and vouchers for glasses++
Claiming Pension Credit can open doors to these additional benefits, which can make a huge difference to your overall financial well-being.
